On SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 16, Cosmic Comix is hosting local creator MELODY OFTEN for a special signing in honor of her webcomic TRINADOT! Melody will be signing, answering questions, and hanging out right here from 11 am – 3 pm!
As for a bio, Melody creates the ongoing adventure webcomic Trinadot which can be found on Stela, a mobile app for original comics. Born in Texas and raised in Southern California, Often has always been fascinated by the great diversity of biomes on Earth. She attended the Maryland Institute College of Art learning graphite and colored pencil drawing as well as oil, acrylic, and mural painting. Her first graphic novel and senior thesis, entitled In the Hands of Boys, was written by her mother, Janet Tangirala, a French teacher at an upstate New York high school. The project won a Best Comic for the Baltimore City Paper Best of 2005 and a Xeric Grant in 2006. She illustrates, flats, and colors comics for Stela, IDW, and Image Comics and regularly exhibits at conventions as well as group and solo shows. Her work has been featured in such anthologies as Amazing Forest and 1001 Knights. Often speaks French and dreams of one day directing a Trinadot animated feature. You can follow her work on MelodyOften.com, Instagram (@melodyoften), and on Facebook.
So come on by Saturday, September 16, say hi and hang out with Melody!
