On Saturday, October 28, Cosmic Comix is putting on our annual celebration of Halloween and all things spooooky. It's HALLOWEEN COMICFEST 2017! This will mark the sixth anniversary of the event (it's always the Saturday before Halloween), and just as in years past it's gonna be a great time. We like to consider it the fall version of Free Comic Book Day, and just like FCBD... it's one of our biggest parties of the year!
This year, we're dividing the event into three distinct entities:
KIDS OF ALL AGES : 11 AM - 3 PM
ADULTS OF ALL AGES : 5 - 8 PM
AFTER PARTY AT JENNINGS CAFE : 9 PM - 2 AM
So no matter what type of experience you're looking for on Halloween ComicFest, we've got you covered! Let's start with the kids...

Our goal, 24 hours a day and 365 days a year, is to spread our love of comics far and wide. Comic books are a fun and exciting way to introduce kids to reading and help children comprehend storylines. Comics have proven to be a wonderful educational tool to help reluctant readers to take an interest in, and develop a lifelong love of, reading. We will have numerous Halloween-themed comics to choose from, specially printed just for Halloween ComicFest! These six comics will be our spotlight titles!
PUMPKIN PAINTING!
As we've done for the past couple years, we are once again offering you the chance to win prizes for your pumpkin painting skills! Do you have an idea for a painted pumpkin? Bring it by the store on Halloween Comic-Fest! It might just win you something cool!
SKETCH ARTIST!
Our buddy Chris Vance will be here from 11 am - 3 pm doing sketches, absolutely FREE, for anyone who asks! His specialty is the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, so if you have a favorite turtle -- Donatello, Michelangelo, Raphael, or Leonardo -- be sure to let him know!
As for a bio, his buddy Kurt said: "Chris Vance is an amazing comic artist! He graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design. He is the lead artist and a head founder of the hilarious webcomic Bunnies On Fire. He’s done countless commissions and sketches for fans all over the country. Chris is also one of the world’s leading experts on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and is well known in the TMNT community. While he will draw almost anything, he mostly prefers to draw TMNT characters. (He’s amazeballs at it.) He’s also a super nice, laid back cat who loves nothing more than comics, movies, friends, and of course, the TMNT."

DECORATIONS, CANDY, AND FUN, FUN, FUN!
You know it and we know it: THIS IS A PARTY! We like to think of it as one of our biggest parties of the year (second only to Free Comic Book Day, of course) and it is a blast from start to finish. The store will be decked out in spooky decorations, we’ll have those Cosmic Comix Super Specials everywhere, and it’s just gonna be a good time.
Like I said, the first part of the day will be a great event for comic and Halloween fans of all ages! Come and celebrate Halloween this year at Cosmic Comix!
